During my travels, I like to search for fun gifts to bring home. In addition to collecting paintings, I’ve come across some great nativity scenes. We like to scatter these throughout our home during the month of December. Below is a sampling of some I have collected. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find any in India or Asia. I’ll keep looking, but it’s hard to describe a nativity scene to a Thai shop keeper who doesn’t understand English and has likely never heard of the Chrismas story. I might start collecting copies of Buddah and adding them to the collection.
I think my favorite piece is the one from Prague. It’s entirely made out of colored glass. I also love several that I have brought back from Germany. In December, each town has a wonderful Christmas market where they have hundreds to choose from–and some really good food.
