Today’s the day! My fifth book, Light and Shadows, is officially out.

This one is a little different from anything I’ve written before. It’s a multigenerational family drama set beneath the wild Wyoming sky — a story about two estranged sisters, an experimental transfusion, and the secrets that won’t stay buried. At its heart, it’s a book about sisterhood, and about the courage it takes to face your demons before it’s too late.
If you’ve enjoyed authors like Kristin Hannah or Barbara Kingsolver, I think this one will feel like home.
Of everything I’ve written, this is the story that has stayed with me the longest after I typed the final page. I hope it stays with you too.
Advance readers have been generous with their praise for Light and Shadows.
“A setting in the magnificent Wind River mountains of Wyoming, a cast of characters who draw you into their complicated lives, and a plot that twists and turns and keeps you guessing all add up to a compelling and entertaining ride. Darin Gibby has written an impressive novel of the West.”
—Margaret Coel, New York Times bestselling author of Winter’s Child
“Darin Gibby is a master storyteller who weaves a tale of personal identity coupled with family drama that is compelling. Secrets combine with the supposed reality of everyday life, which makes it a book that is hard to put down. A perfect read. Highly recommended.”
—Kristen Houghton, award-winning author of The Cate Harlow Private Investigation series

A small favor
If you read the book and enjoy it, a short review on Amazon or Goodreads is one of the best gifts you can give an author. It does help this story find new readers.
Writing has been the quiet second half of my life for a long time now — mornings, weekends, and stolen hours between the demands of practicing patent law. Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Publication day never gets old, and I’m so glad to be sharing this one with you.
If you read Light and Shadows and want to talk about it — book club questions, reactions, anything — my inbox is always open. You can reach me through the contact page.
Happy reading, Darin
