Lawn Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park

Lawn Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park

June 27, 2017 by Darin Gibby

We decided to risk plowing through snowfields and see if we could make it to Lawn Lake.  Fortunately, nearly all the snow had melted and we made it there no problem.  Our goal was to make it to Crystal, but there was still quite a bit of snow.  We did find a few groups who ventured up, but we didn’t talk to anyone coming down so we weren’t sure how much snow was still covering the trail.  As you can see, it was a really nice day and Lawn Lake was a great place to spend the day.

I took my Apple Watch with me to see if the mileage was correct.  It said about 6.4 miles each way.  But it is relatively easy hike compared to some others we’ve done–like Arrowhead.  Would be nice to go back and see if we could get to Crystal.
